Pearl Jam has just released its latest music video, “Life Wasted,” under a Creative Commons license. That means that anyone will be able to “legally copy, distribute and share the clip” for noncommercial purposes.

Poll: 55% break copyright law

Fifty-nine per cent of respondents in the National Consumer Council (NCC) commissioned poll thought copying their own CDs was perfectly legal, and 55 per cent said they have done so. However, current UK law states that it is illegal to rip CDs to any other media.

Music revenues worldwide declines with 4%

IFPI announced that the global music revenues declined with 4%. The decline is the result of lower CD prices. The amount of CD’s sold hasn’t declined. Digital music sales nearly tripled to $1.1 bln from $400 mln in 2004, split evenly between online services and mobile phone downloads.
